CT scanning is a popular diagnostic imaging technique in the medical industry today, and is one of the methods that help doctors accurately diagnose a patient’s health condition. However, in order to meet CT scanning room standards to ensure safety and avoid the harmful effects of radiation, when designing a CT scanning room, it is necessary to pay attention to the following:
DOOR :
The entrance door and the door connecting the machine table and the control room must be covered with a layer of radiation protection (X-rays)… made of lead material with a standard thickness of 3mm.
Signal lights and radiation warning signs must be fully mounted on the outside of the CT room door.
2. WINDOWS :
Windows must be designed with metal frames with lead-filled glass and stainless steel frames to prevent clear or translucent X-rays to provide natural lighting and easy observation from the outside. Lead glass thickness is from 10-15mm.
3. WALLS, CEILINGS AND FLOORS OF ROOM :
The walls, ceiling and floor of the CT room must be covered with a 3mm thick layer of anti-radiation lead or mortar and Barite tiles to ensure radiation safety.
